Cold Stamping Foil

Cold stamping foil is based on a new printing technology that allows colour printing on top of the stamped foil. A metallic shine is added to the printed part for a more high-quality print with a touch of luxury.
So far, a standard transfer process revolved mainly around hot stamping, a technology which uses a pre-built mould for the transfer. Cold stamping, however, does not require such a mould, but merely a standard off-set printing plate (halftone printing), so that gradations, fine lines and characters, which were difficult to handle with hot stamping, can be expressed.

With cold foil printing, a coloured off-set print is printed on top of the stamped part so that a photo-like effect can be achieved. Brilliant bright colours can be expressed in a way that is not possible with simple gold and silver foil.

  • Colour gradations as well as fine lines and characters which are difficult to process with hot stamping can be illustrated.
  • A photo-like design effect can be achieved.
  • Brilliant bright colours can be expressed in a manner not feasible with simple gold and silver foil.
